The Lunar Chronicles

This past summer I renewed my membership to Audible and tried to catch up on some books that I had already purchased but never had time to listen to.  So, here are a few that I absolutely enjoyed.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer.  It was Ms. D that got me hooked on this series.  I really enjoy fairy tales and this one followed Cinderella’s story with a bit of a twist.  It left me interested so I went ahead and charged on to read Scarlet and then Cress.  I enjoyed them all.  The romance part of the book was not overdramatic for my taste, and the characters had enough depth that I wanted to know more about them.  I do recommend that if you’re interested in reading these try to read them in order.

Goodbye Maelstrom

We live about an hour drive from Disney World. I would only visit every once in a while, but once the kids were born we became regulars.  Ms. D mentioned to me that they were closing the Norway ride Maelstrom to refurbish it to a Frozen ride.  This will probably make the ride more popular/crowded, but made me feel sad in a sentimental way.  I’ve always enjoyed Maelstrom.   I would have to say it’s one of my favorites in the world showcase.  I wanted to ride it one more time before it closed so, I filled up the car with gas, drove by to pick up Ms. D at UCF and off to Epcot we went.

The food and wine festival was also going so we indulged a little bit in that area.
